The Sunshine Coast Health Institute, Entry Wall, ‘Guana’ The inspiration for this artwork is from the guana, which was a native wildflower found in the Kawana, Warana and Caloundra area. The Kabi Kabi (Gubbi Gubbi) are the traditional people and custodians of the area. The name ‘guana’ means wildflower in the Kabi Kabi language and wildflower blooms are a metaphor for new life and seasonal change, while also representing ideas, history and time related to the Kabi Kabi culture.
